The number of online ads for jobs listed in South Carolina rose by 1,800 in December, according to The Conference Board Help Wanted Online.
Online help wanted ads totaled 58,200 last month compared with 56,400 in November.
Year over year, online job ads are up 15% compared with December 2011’s figure of 50,600, the board reported.
In South Carolina, there were 3.14 unemployed persons for every vacancy, the board reported. That compares with the national average of 2.55 unemployed persons for every vacancy.
South Carolina’s neighbors also showed increases in the number of jobs listed online. Georgia gained 10,300 for December, while North Carolina was up 1,400 jobs.
