Interstate, which moved to Columbia in 2011, is the only tenant in the 163,250-square-foot facility at 3601 Sunset Blvd.

Colliers International’s Chuck Salley, vice president and principal, and Dave Mathews, brokerage associate, represented the landlord, Bridgeport Properties Span, in the transaction.

The distribution center, built in 1987, features 34-foot clear height ceilings and 22 truck docks.

On Dec. 1, 2011, Interstate launched manufacturing operations in an 183,000-square-foot building at 128 Crews Drive, near the interchange of interstates 20 and 26 in Lexington County.

The plant makes Greencoat, 100% recyclable, wax-free corrugated boxes used for packing poultry, meat, seafood, fresh produce, floral, and other refrigerated and frozen products.

The containers are considered easier to recycle than traditional paperboard boxes, the company said.

The Columbia plant is a member company of Interstate Resources, based in Arlington, Va.
