Owens Corning, a producer of glass fiber reinforcements for composite materials, plans to invest $7 million and add a warehouse to its operations in Aiken County.
The 175,000-square-foot warehouse will be adjacent to Owens Corning’s plant at 2648 Wagener Road. The new facility is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2014, and will be used to store products created at the plant.
“The decision to build a new warehouse facility allows us to better serve our customers and increase our operational efficiency,” said Steven Vermeulen, vice president and managing director of engineered solutions at Owens Corning.
In December 2010, Owens Corning announced the expansion of its Aiken facility with the addition of a nonwoven glass fiber mat production line. That expansion added 35 jobs with a $36 million investment.
