Raleigh-based Smith Gardner Inc., an employee-owned solid waste consulting and engineering firm, has opened a new office in Columbia at 614 Ott Road.

The site will serve as home to Smith Gardner’s environmental services team, which includes C. Kevin Anderson, Bobby J. Wolf and Britt Ransom, said President Stacey A. Smith.

“This will allow us more room to investigate and develop more environmentally appropriate waste management practices for the future, which is a major concern for our firm,” Smith said in a news release. “At the same time, the new office increases our footprint in our service area of the eastern United States. This expansion is a natural outgrowth of our continuing efforts to provide the best efficiencies, services and solutions to our clients.”

Smith Gardner provides expertise in planning, siting, permitting, design, construction, landfill gas management, groundwater monitoring/assessment/remediation, closure and post-closure care of various solid waste facilities. Smith Gardner also provides training and forensic engineering services to the solid waste engineering community at large.
