The city of Columbia and Turner Construction School of Management announced plans to host free training classes for contractors.
The course aims to enhance the managerial, technical and administrative skills of contractors, according to a news release.
Specifically, the class will focus on identifying challenges of contractors; fundamentals of estimating; effective methods for locating, obtaining, managing and scheduling work; contract management concepts; and local resources for the construction industry.
The course runs from Feb. 20 to May 1. Classes will be held at the Earlewood Community Center, 1113 Parkside Drive, every Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend; registration deadline is Feb. 13.
