Lap Tech Industries, a manufacturer of precision components, announced plans to expand its existing operations in York County.
The $4.5 million investment is expected to generate 60 new jobs.
“This expansion is an important step for our company and will help us to extend our reach and meet the demands of new customers. South Carolina has continued to provide us with the right business environment in which to operate,” said Lap Tech President Ramon Guzman.
The company will be moving into a building in the East York Industrial Park to expand its precision finishing operations and add additional capabilities, according to a news release. Future planned capabilities also involve precision fabrication and metal forming.
Lap Tech will begin hiring for the expanded operations in March, and the new facility will be online by early summer.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a Governor’s Closing Fund grant of $200,000 for building upfit.
Lap Tech Industries manufactures components for customers in the automotive, electronics, appliance and metal stamping industries. The company provides precision finishing services such as grinding, lapping, polishing and precision cleaning.
