National homebuilder D.R. Horton has acquired Cobblestone Park, a gated golf course community near Blythewood, and about 300 residential lots.
The Texas-based builder plans to sell homes ranging from $250,000 to the mid-$500,000s in the 15-year-old development near the interchange of Interstate 77 and Blythewood Road.
The development features a 27-hole golf course, and an amenity center that includes a fitness facility, six-court tennis complex, swimming pool, basketball and volleyball courts, and a sports field.
D.R. Horton closed on 18,890 homes nationwide during the 2012 fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30, according to a news release.
The company has operations in 26 states and 77 markets, including Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head.
