Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd P.A. has added Dawn Hardesty to its Columbia office to focus on creditors’ rights and bankruptcy matters.
Across the state, the law firm also added Raleigh West as a litigator in Charleston and William McKinney as a member of the firm’s business litigation and financial services teams in the Greenville office.
She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2010. While attending law school, she served as an associate student works editor for the South Carolina Law Review. With concentrations in legal studies and entrepreneurship, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University in 2007.
Prior to joining the law firm, Hardesty completed a two-year term as law clerk to Judge David R. Duncan of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina.
In Charleston, West will focus his practice on personal injury defense as well as business, financial, real estate and land use litigation.
The Berkeley County native earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2012. He graduated from Wofford College in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in history and Spanish language. In 2007, he also received a master’s degree from The Citadel.
McKinney, based in the firm’s Greenville office, will represent clients in business, commercial and financial litigation matters.
While attending the University of South Carolina School of Law, McKinney was an academic assistance program tutor for constitutional law; an articles editor for the American Bar Association’s Real Estate, Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal; and a constitutional law and transnational law research assistant.
McKinney’s legal background includes participation in a 2010 study-abroad program in London in conjunction with The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, one of the four London Inns of Court.
