Ford has awarded Fort Mill-based Continental Tire a contract to supply the original equipment fitment — tire and wheel — for the 2013 Fusion Titanium.

The tire manufacturer will provide its ContiProContact model 235/40R19 96V for the fuel-efficient Ford midsize family sedan.

The ContiProContact is Continental’s premium touring all-season tire designed for performance with comfort, mileage and enhanced braking capacity, the tire maker said.

The tire is also available as a replacement model in a variety of sizes.

Other features of the tire include:

  • Multidirectional grip and low noise with alternating convex and concave sipe design.
  • Secure cornering and performance in wet conditions with special shoulder groove geometry.
  • Improved steering precision and dry performance from interlocking tread sipes.
  • Improved fuel economy through use of silica compound that lowers rolling resistance.
