Midlands Technical College has received approval from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for several QuickJobs programs.

The new VA-approved programs are: welding, pipefitting and Society for Human Resource Management exam review.

The programs are in addition to current VA-approved programs offered in the areas of business management, information technology and health care.

“Midlands Technical College is committed to providing education and training programs that enable our military community to easily move into high demand careers in the Midlands of S.C.,” said Barrie Kirk, Midlands Tech vice president for corporate and continuing education.

The VA-approved programs range in length from a couple weeks to 18 months.

All of Midlands Tech’s VA-approved programs lead toward certificates and/or industry certifications, and all participants are awarded both continuing education units and clock hours.

Military tuition assistance is dependent primarily upon the individual’s command. Many commands will approve tuition assistance for promotion points, career advancement and morale purposes.

Active-duty military and veterans can contact Midlands Tech at 803-738-7717 for more information, or visit www.mtctraining.com/va.
