South Carolina Electric & Gas will temporarily close its park on the Irmo side of the Lake Murray Dam to make improvements to the site, the utility announced.
The park will close Nov. 12. The company anticipates improvements to take up to three weeks, depending on the weather.
The utility plans to pave and restripe the parking lot and construct a concrete access road to the existing boat ramps.
“We apologize for the inconvenience, but these enhancements will be a benefit to all those that use the park,” said Tommy Boozer, who heads SCE&G’s lake management activities. “We would like to remind folks that the walker’s parking lot on the south side of the lake on the Lexington side will remain open for public use.”
