The administrative staff of the city of Columbia’s Parks and Recreation Department will be moving from its Calhoun Street site to a building at Earlewood Park.

The new Parkside Drive office will open Nov. 1 to the public for all normal business operations and the new community center will be available for reservations or rentals.

A staff person will remain at the Calhoun Street location through next Friday in order to assist customers who may not be aware of the move.

The department’s telephone number will remain the same, 803-545-3100.

A grand-opening ceremony will be held in the spring 2013. It will coincide with the completion of ongoing construction, which includes a new playground, renovation of the tennis courts and the dedication of the community fountain.
