Columbia homebuilders association elects 2013 officers

David Clark of Clark’s Building Solutions was recently elected 2013 president of the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia.

He is a second-generation builder, the son of Frank Clark, who founded Clark’s Services Inc. in 1963. Clark also is the principal of Clark’s Termite & Pest Control.

Clark graduated from the University of South Carolina with degrees in retail management and business administration. He is a member of the S.C. Pest Control Association and will serve as vice president of that organization in 2013.

Other officers elected are John Covert of Covert Homes LLC, vice president; James W. Derrick of Coldwell Banker United Realtors, associate vice president; David Tuttle of Lake Carolina Development Inc., treasurer; and Eddie Yandle of Executive Construction, secretary.

In addition, the association elected two associate directors and two builder directors to the board for two-year terms. Jennifer Harding of Russell & Jeffcoat Real Estate and Wonida Welch of Homeowners Mortgage Enterprises were named associate directors. The new builder directors are Clint Galloway of Galloway Family Homes and Greg Lehman of Ryan Homes.

Clark will be installed as president at the association’s annual holiday ball on Dec. 7. All new board members will begin their terms in January 2013.
