David Michael Heath was recently installed as the 11th head of Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia at the school’s annual convocation service.

The school board appointed Heath last spring to become headmaster beginning this school year.

Heath has more than 20 years of experience in independent schools.

Most recently, he was the assistant head of school at the Catlin Gabel School in Portland, Ore. He has also served as teacher and coach at the Felsted School in England; director of studies at St. Margaret's Episcopal School in California; and head of the upper and middle schools at York Country Day School in Pennsylvania.
