USC names director of undergraduate admissions

Mary Tileston Wagner has been named director of undergraduate admissions at the University of South Carolina.

Wagner previously served as senior associate director since 2008.

She began her new role Sept. 1, succeeding Scott Verzyl, who continues as associate vice president for enrollment management and executive director of admissions.

Wagner will oversee daily operations and staff management of the admissions office and will coordinate activities related to student recruitment, marketing and application processing.

Wagner, who was associate director for operations and technology from 2006 to 2008, also will coordinate implementation of the admissions-related portion of OneCarolina, the university-wide project to replace the university’s administrative computing systems.

Prior to joining USC, Wagner served as Louisiana College's director of admission from 2001 to 2003 and later as the institution's director of enrollment management and institutional research from 2003 to 2004. She also was an assistant director for operations at North Georgia College & State University from 1998 to 2001.
