Fort Mill-based Continental Tire the Americas is extending its emergency road service program to members of the Owner-Operator and Independent Driver Association.
The program gives association members free access to a call center 24/7 with information on more than 1,000 points of sale in the United States and Canada, the tire maker said.
Call center operators can help drivers identify an issue, locate a service provider, and provide regulated pricing for tires and related services, said Clif Armstrong, director of marketing for commercial vehicle tires.
“We’ve taken some of the guesswork out of breakdowns so that independent drivers don’t have to worry about the unpredictable prices for tires when they need them most,” Armstrong said.
The service also offers an iPhone or iPad app to locate a Continental tire dealer.
