Colonial Life names five to new management roles

Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Co. has named five employees to new management roles in the company.

Jeff Koll has been named voluntary benefits life actuary in the company’s U.S. finance organization. He has 20 years of insurance industry experience. Koll first joined Colonial Life as part of the actuarial department in 1998 and also served in management roles in claims before moving to his most recent role as assistant vice president of life and disability products. He holds a bachelor's degree in actuarial science from the University of Iowa.

Steven Johnson has been named assistant vice president of life and disability products. Johnson joined Colonial Life in 2004 as a financial analyst and most recently served as assistant vice president of account management. Johnson graduated from the University of South Carolina with a master’s degree in business administration.

Michelle White has been named assistant vice president of account management. White is the first participant in the corporation’s professional development program to be placed in a regular position in the company. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Connecticut.

Richard Dunlap has been named director of new business and agency systems. He will be responsible for resource allocation, employee development and business planning. Dunlap joined Colonial Life in 1996 and has served in a number of IT roles including programmer/analyst, consultant and manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Francis Marion University in Florence.

Belinda Maffei has been named director of broker marketing. Maffei will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing marketing initiatives through Colonial Life’s broker channel. She has been with the company more than 20 years serving in operations management, account development and marketing management roles. Most recently, Maffei served as Colonial Life’s Southwest regional broker marketing manager.
