Colonial Life names six to new management roles

Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Co. has named six people to new management roles in the company.

Bob Ruff has been named assistant vice president of premier client consulting. He is responsible for setting acquisition strategy for large-sized customer segments.

Ruff joined Colonial Life in 2008 in the company’s marketing and branding department and most recently served in a director role. He has extensive experience in competitive intelligence, product development and marketing programs. Ruff holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Va., and a master’s degree in business administration from Clemson University.

Justin Laughlin has been named vice president of Colonial Life’s market segment finance. Laughlin’s responsibilities include leadership over business analysis and pricing and profitability related to the company’s products.

Laughlin first joined Colonial Life as an actuarial assistant from 2000 to 2002. He rejoined the company in 2007 as director of finance and risk management after serving for four years at Strategic Resource Co. in the actuarial, underwriting and product areas. He also has experience in product development. Laughlin holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Wofford College and a master’s degree in actuarial science from Georgia State University.

Dave Wallace has been named assistant vice president of account services. Wallace is responsible for billing, account management, individual services and group administration.

He joined Colonial Life in 2005 and most recently served as a director in account services. Wallace has also served as director of sales compensation. Wallace holds a bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina.

Bridget Bennon-Lytton has been named assistant vice president of premier client management. Lytton has worked at Colonial Life for more than 25 years, holding leadership roles in the enrollment, policyholder services, account management and underwriting departments. She previously led the company’s premier client manager team at the director level. Lytton holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Clemson University.

Jason Mulligan has been named director of sales contract and compensation services. Mulligan will lead teams responsible for several aspects of the company’s sales contract and compensation area. He’s been with Colonial Life for 11 years, most recently serving in a manager role in sales compensation. Mulligan holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.

Bethany Fulmer has been named director of sales compensation financial controls, and will help manage the company’s sales commission and bonuses. Fulmer previously served as a manager in sales compensation and has been with Colonial Life for 16 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Newberry College.
