SSMG Warehouse & Distribution, a spinoff of 30-year-old Southern Sales & Marketing, is a new operation offering a 450,000-square-foot warehouse and assembly facility in Orangeburg County.

The facility, located at 1000 Southern Patio Parkway in Rowesville, can be used for warehousing, distribution, third-party logistics consulting and transportation of retail products. The company also offers a team of logistics experts to help new customers.

“We are excited about this new business unit and our ability to help customers optimize transportation, warehousing and other logistics operations,” said Jerry Wuenscher, vice president of operations. “It is a unique opportunity for our new customers to benefit from our 30 years of experience distributing products to Home Depot and Lowes.”

The building, which can accommodate light assembly as well, recently had a complete renovation of its roofing system.

Potential customers include importers looking for logistics support as well as manufacturers wanting to export or needing additional space, the company said. The building is an approved Foreign Trade Zone site.

SSMG has about 30 employees.
