Columbia-based Accident Insurance Co. has contracted GlobalOptions Inc. to serve as its special investigations unit provider that will offer a range of services to curb fraud.
Headquartered in Orlando, Fla., GlobalOptions will provide fraud compliance reporting, fraud training programs for its employees and investigate suspected fraudulent insurance activities across the company’s programs and lines of business.
"We are pleased to have an organization as experienced as GlobalOptions handling our SIU program," said Steve Poncsak, COO of Accident Insurance.
The program will allow the Columbia insurance company to “proactively identify potential fraud, all while managing investigative activity through GlobalTrak,” said Frank Pinder, president and CEO of GlobalOptions.
GlobalTrak will allow the company to calculate return-on-investment on anti-fraud activities in addition to generating annual reporting for compliance purposes, Pinder added.
Accident Insurance, headquartered at One Harbison Way in Columbia, is a property and casualty carrier writing workers’ compensation in 19 states.
The company was founded in 2003.
