Southern Paint to open Pageland facility

Southern Paint and Powder Coating Inc. today announced plans to locate its new facility in Chesterfield County.

The $845,000 investment is expected to generate 13 new jobs.

“Chesterfield County offers us an exceptional business environment as well as a great location from which to serve our customers, both old and new. We appreciate the support we’ve received from both state and local officials as we’ve moved forward on this project,” said Ernest Jordan, president of Southern Paint and Powder Coating Inc.

Southern Paint and Powder Coating Inc. will establish a new coatings facility in Pageland. The company specializes in the application of liquid paint and powder coatings for OEM manufacturers in the truck, construction and school bus markets.

“We work every day to bring investment to our state and it is always exciting to see companies choose to establish themselves in one of our rural areas,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.

Southern Paint and Powder Coating Inc. will set up its operation in the former Eagle Springs Water Co. facility at 608 Usher St. The company expects to begin operations in the new facility in the fall.

“Small businesses are vital to South Carolina’s economy, especially in rural areas. It’s great to see Southern Paint and Powder Coating join our small business community. Every one of these new jobs will have an impact in Pageland,” said state Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.

Southern Paint and Powder Coating Inc. is a family-owned and operated business that opened its doors in 1968 in North Carolina. The company offers liquid painting, sandblasting and powder coating services.
