The Columbia World Affairs Council and the Midlands International Trade Association will host the ambassador of India at a luncheon this month.

The event will be held at the Columbia Marriott from noon to 2 p.m. on Feb. 29.

Ambassador Nirupama Rao will address increasing business between South Carolina and India as well as opportunities for tourism and cultural relationships.

“There is growing interest in India both from a business and cultural standpoint. We look forward to providing a forum where people can learn more about both,” said Fred Monk, chairman emeritus and managing director of the Columbia World Affairs Council.
