P. Nelson Lindsay has been hired as Richland County’s first director of economic development.
According to Richland County Administrator Milton Pope, who hired Lindsay, his principal duties will be establishment of an office of economic development, continued recruitment of new industry, and retention and expansion of existing industry.
Lindsay has served since 1997 as the economic development director of Kershaw County.
He holds an undergraduate degree from Wofford College and a master’s in public administration from the University of South Carolina. He completed the S.C. Economic Development Symposium and is a graduate of the Economic Development program of the University of Oklahoma.
