EagleEye Analytics adds insurance industry veteran to board

Dan R. Carmichael has been appointed to the board of directors of EagleEye Analytics, which provides data analysis to the insurance industry.

Carmichael is chairman of the board of Platinum Underwriters Holdings, a Bermuda holding company for property and casualty reinsurance companies. He was president and CEO of Ohio Casualty Corp. for seven years.

Carmichael is also a director of Alleghany Corp. and Dovetail Insurance. Additionally, he serves on the advisory council of Proudfoot Consulting, a global operational consultancy firm, and the insurance advisory board of FirstMark Capital, a private equity firm.

At Ohio Casualty, where he was president and CEO from December 2000 to 2007, Carmichael was oversaw the restoration of the company’s financial strength and performance, leading up to its eventual sale to Liberty Mutual in 2007 for $2.9 billion.

From 1995 until the end of 2000, Carmichael was president and CEO of Ivans Inc., a privately held, industry-owned organization that provides electronic communications services to insurance and health care organizations.
